A 4/4 violin labeled Stefano Scarampella, made in 1917, in good physical condition and tested and playable, wooden construction with no extras.

Some old repaired cracks on top. Ready to play with good boxwood and rosewood fittings and new strings.
A very fine old 4/4 violin, labeled Stefano Scarampella fratello ad allievo di Giuseppe fece in Mantova anno 1917. The instrument is in ready to play condition with some old repaired cracks on top, good boxwood and rosewood fittings and new strings. The violin has an excellent high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple with matched sides. Rich golden amber varnish over lighter ground shows an amazing wooden choice. The total length of the violin is 591 mm, body – 358 mm. Width of the upper bout: 165 mm; middle: 110 mm; lower: 204 mm.
