Description from the seller
THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1
With this vertically formatted artwork, Medsan presents Optimus Prime, the legendary leader of the Transformers Autobots, as a colossal metal figure at the heart of a Japanese-inspired twilight print landscape.
The treatment mirrors traditional woodblock printing: a sky of embers and turbulent clouds, tall susuki grasses swaying in the wind, Mount Fuji rising from stylized swirls, all framed by a bold line and enhanced with engravings even in the giant’s armor. The deep reds and steel grays of the robot, bearing the Autobot logo, dialogue with the muted, autumnal palette of the setting. The cartouche 変形鉄神 — “the god of transformable iron” — crowns the composition.
The artwork transmutes the 1980s mecha icon into a true kami, a protective deity emerging from folklore. A stoic guardian in the face of chaos, Optimus Prime becomes a tutelary figure, bridging Western science fiction and the Japanese visual pantheon.
A powerful and monumental piece, ideal for bringing an epic, Japanese-inflected touch to a contemporary collector’s interior who loves geek culture and prints.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists united around a living, plural contemporary creation. Established as a true artistic production space, the studio operates both as collaborative creation and as individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family adventure. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative, introspective body of work influenced by cinema and realism. Beside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive inquiry, blending abstract art, naïve art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and each artist’s own identity.
