About Svnder:
After completing academic studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo, Svnder has dedicated himself to painting with a focus on realism and hyperrealism. His work draws roots from classical techniques, but is driven by a contemporary sensibility that lends poetic depth to every subject. His works explore the emotional weight of silence, immobility and identity through precise and meticulous execution.
After formal training he traveled through Europe and the rest of the world, immersed in diverse cultural and artistic traditions to further sharpen his technique and expand his creative vision. This ongoing journey continually enriches his visual language and strengthens his expressive power.
Inspired by the timeless language of the great masters – including Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Vermeer – his gaze fuses tradition and modernity in a continuous dialogue between memory, body and symbol.
The subjects of his works vary from religious scenes and reinterpretations of sacred figures in a contemporary rendering, to portraits with strong emotional impact, along mythological beings, fallen angels, saints, martyrs and allegorical figures. There are references to classics, Christian symbolism, Greek mythology and pop culture filtered with irony. Each composition is built as an image that seems suspended in time, where light and dark, body and mind, sacred and profane coexist in a dramatic and deeply human balance.
“For me art is a moment of suspension — a space where time stands still and emotions take shape without words.”
His works have been exhibited internationally and are part of private collections across Europe and the rest of the world.
