Description from the seller

FIGURATIVE LANDSCAPE WITH AN FS WAGON
OF TYPE F

FRANCO NATALE

- ARTIST OF LIGHT -.

Franco Natale was born in Calabria on February 19, 1936, in Capistrano (VV). Here he found the ideal environment to foster a painting rich in solar lights and Mediterranean colors. From his early years, his master in art and life was his grandfather, Domenico Natale. In 1953 he enlisted in the Carabinieri Corps.
In Galati Mamertino the young non-commissioned officer meets the woman of his life, his wife Mimma Giardinieri.
This experience as a non-commissioned officer was vibrant and unforgettable. Other paths awaited him, and he returned to Calabria where he devoted himself to art and teaching. From his marriage to Mimma five children were born. In 1970 the most exciting and satisfying period began, with numerous exhibitions all over Italy. He left teaching in middle schools, where he had been tasked as a teacher of artistic disciplines, to devote himself entirely to art.
He exhibited in the main Galleries of Italy, and his works enrich important collections around the world.
Countless are the recognitions from critics and the public. The latest, the “Renoir Prize,” posthumously awarded to him in Capistrano in 2018.
He died in Sant’Agata Militello on January 21, 2017.
