ABOUT THE PAINTER
Born on December 16, 1973, in the city of Viseu, Portugal, Filipe Rebelo, artistic name Phill Bello, studied in secondary education with a focus on the arts. During these years he had his first contact with various media such as charcoal drawing, graphic drawing, gouache painting and watercolor, ultimately opting for oil painting as his final project in secondary school.

He later attended the Painting course at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto, where he created his first works.

He did lithography and screen printing, painted ceramics, and did various stencil works.

He held a group exhibition in Porto with other students from the Faculty.

He moved to Lisbon where he worked as a graphic designer and illustrator.

Several exhibitions followed, both private and collective.

Currently he dedicates himself exclusively to painting, receiving commissions from various personalities and companies.

ABOUT THE PAINTING

This is an abstract oil painting with a strong visual impact, built from a vertical composition that evokes the continuous movement of rain or lights falling through space.

The palette is dominated by deep, nocturnal blues, almost marine, contrasted by vertical streaks in white, beige and light tones that run down the surface of the canvas. These lines create a repetitive, hypnotic rhythm, conveying a sense of descent, fluidity, and the passage of time.

At the bottom, the brushstrokes become more horizontal and dense, suggesting reflections, puddles of water, or a liquid surface being struck by drops.

The layering of coats adds texture and depth, with thicker areas of paint that subtly catch the light.

The overall work conveys a contemplative, melancholic and poetic atmosphere, reminiscent of a rainy night seen through a window or urban reflections in the rain.
