Caesar Borja - Prometeo

Caesar Borja is a philosopher, artist, and founder of Neo Idols, a sculptural project built from a philosophical vision of art, history, and civilization.

His work arises from the search for a return to greatness, understood not as nostalgia or literal reproduction of the past, but as the recovery of ideals such as virtue, heroism, beauty, sacrifice, and the aspiration to surpass one’s own limits.

Neo Idols develops a visual language rooted in Hispano-Greek-Roman sources, reinterpreted from a contemporary sensibility. The classical tradition, the history of Spain, mythology, Christianity, and philosophy are integrated into monumental sculptures conceived as living symbols, not as archaeological pieces.

The central principle of his work is summarized in the idea that “heroes are a mirror.” The great figures of the past appear not only as historical or mythological characters, but as representations of what the human being can become.

Concept of the work

Prometheus represents the titan who gives fire to humanity, becoming a symbol of knowledge, technique, creation, and the rebellion against imposed limits.

In this interpretation, fire is not only a physical element. It represents the human capacity to create, transform the world, and elevate oneself beyond one’s initial condition.

The monumental anatomy of Prometheus, his stone-like body, the arm transformed by fire, and the cosmic mantle express the tension between matter, spirit, knowledge, and divinity.

The spiral motifs, fretwork, and golden elements come from Greco-Roman imagery, while the geometricization of the face and the contemporary treatment of volumes are part of Neo Idols’ own language.

Sculptural process and materials

The sculpture measures approximately 38 cm in height.

The piece is made through a traditional sculpture process based on casting. From the original sculptural model, a mold is created that faithfully reproduces the volumes, reliefs, and details of the work.

The sculpture is manufactured in polystone by rotomolding, a procedure in which the material is distributed inside the mold to form a solid, uniform structure, preserving a high surface definition.

After demolding, the piece is cleaned and manually prepared. The seam lines and small irregularities inherent to the casting process are corrected before starting the pictorial finish.

The painting and finishes are applied by hand, combining:
- Textures with a stone-like appearance.
- Golden metallic finishes.
- Greco-Roman ornamental motifs.
- Depth effects in the flame.
- A mantle with a cosmic appearance.
- Lights, shadows, and nuances applied individually.

The artisanal nature of the process can produce slight variations between pieces, causing each sculpture to have small unique traits.

Packaging and shipping

The work will be specially packaged to protect its shape, volume, and the most delicate elements.

The sculpture will be initially wrapped with non-abrasive protective materials. The more sensitive areas, especially the arm, the flame, and protruding elements, will receive individual protection.

Subsequently, the piece will be immobilized inside a reinforced cardboard box using cushioning material and internal reinforcements, preventing movement during transport. When necessary, a double-box system will be used to provide an extra layer of protection against shocks and external pressure.

Before shipping, the sculpture will be inspected and photographed. Transportation will be carried out by a trackable service, the tracking number of which will be provided to the buyer after dispatch.
