Pancho Porto - stormy days "No reserve"

Small-format sculpture in bronze, limited edition by the Spanish sculptor Pancho Porto.

Pancho Porto (Santiago de Compostela, 1988), began his training in the specialty of artistic cabinetmaking at the Antonio Failde center in Ourense. At this school he had his first contact with disciplines such as carving, drawing or modeling, and, more importantly, with workshop work.

Later he enrolled at the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Crafts in Santiago de Compostela, where he studied what would later become his main discipline: sculpture. It is at this school where he already works with materials that will be fundamental in his work, such as steel or clay. Parallel to this, Porto continues his training independently and investigates other materials such as bronze or resins and their multiple uses and finishes.

After this initial training phase, he decides to set up his studio on the banks of the Sarela river, very close to where he was born. It is here that he begins his particular theoretical and practical exploration of the relationship between the materials used in each work and the message they convey. This leads him to seek new proposals when communicating and narrating his story. Since then, this has been the prevailing tone of his works, endowing the whole of his work with complexity and depth, with themes that touch both the social sphere and his personal experiences.
