Description from the seller

Presented for auction by Second Vintage

This highly sought-after Omega Constellation pairs a striking silver linen dial with the celebrated C-shape case geometry. Preserved in excellent condition, this specific configuration, complete with its original brick-link bracelet and a chronometer-certified caliber 564 automatic movement, represents a very desirable find for collectors seeking a classic 1970s dress watch with profound character.

Brand: Omega
Model: Constellation
Reference Number: ST 168017 SP
Serial Number: 32974798
Movement: Automatic, Caliber 564
Dial: Silver linen textured
Case Size: 34 mm (excluding the crown)
Case Material: Stainless Steel
Production Year: 1970
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Movement serviced on 14 July 2026. Timegrapher: +12+15s/day, performing remarkably well.

Dial and Hands
The striking silver linen textured dial remains pristine, presenting a clean surface with no visible spotting or moisture damage. Applied baton indices with black inserts provide excellent contrast, perfectly complementing the applied Omega logo and the signature Constellation star above the six o'clock position. A framed date window sits neatly at three o'clock. The stick hands, also featuring black inserts, exhibit honest aging consistent with the watch's era. The luminous material on the hand tips shows natural degradation, and some oxidation alongside visible dirt is present on the center pinion.

Case and Crystal
The stainless steel C-shape case retains well-preserved geometry and honest wear. The brushed finish on the top surfaces remains well-defined, while the polished flanks display light handling marks and minor scratches. A polished bezel ring is integrated into the case design, carrying light surface scratches consistent with the rest of the watch. On the reverse, the caseback features a crisp observatory medallion with all stars clearly visible. The watch is fitted with a scalloped crown, clearly signed with the Omega logo. The domed acrylic crystal remains clear with minimal surface scratches and features the Omega logo etched directly in the center.

Movement
Powering this Constellation is the copper-colored caliber 564 automatic movement, which is bright, clean, and free of any obvious signs of corrosion or moisture damage. Light wear marks are visible on the rotor edge. The movement displays crisp engravings reading OMEGA WATCH Co SWISS, TWENTY-FOUR 24 JEWELS, ADJUSTED FIVE (5) POSITIONS AND TEMPERATURE, alongside the serial number and the Omega symbol. The timegrapher records a rate of +12+15s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The movement was serviced on 14 July 2026.

Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed stainless steel brick-link style bracelet, a classic and comfortable Omega design. It secures via a signed folding clasp, which shows light surface wear and scratches. The endlinks are properly stamped with code 518. The bracelet accommodates a maximum wrist size of 18.5 cm.

Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The movement was serviced on 14 July 2026 and, supported by the recorded timegrapher result, is performing very strongly. The case maintains strong lines with well-defined brushing and only light handling marks on the polished flanks. The linen dial is exceptionally clean, while the hands show expected vintage character, specifically lume degradation and oxidation on the center pinion. The acrylic crystal has minimal scratches, and the original brick bracelet shows only light surface wear on the clasp.

Dimensions
34 mm (excluding the crown)

Remarks
This Constellation offers an exceptionally compelling package through its pristine linen dial and crisp caseback medallion. The combination of the renowned C-shape case and the original brick-link bracelet delivers incredible presence on the wrist, making this a superb addition to any serious vintage watch portfolio.

History
Introduced in 1952, the Constellation line served as Omega's flagship series of chronometers, representing the pinnacle of the brand's precision manufacturing. In the 1960s, the renowned designer Gerald Genta refreshed the line with the C-shape case, introducing sweeping, integrated lines that defined an entire era of watchmaking. The caliber 564 housed within is widely recognized by collectors as one of the finest automatic chronometer movements produced during Omega's golden age of mechanical watchmaking.
