With this square-format work, Medsan reinterprets Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam, the legendary fresco in the Sistine Chapel, by replacing the nascent man with R2-D2, the beloved droid of Star Wars, perched in the divine palm amid the celestial clouds.

The treatment follows the Renaissance fresco style: luminous undertones, delicate drapery with golden reflections, a sky populated by angelic figures, and a cracked surface that simulates aged painted plaster. The mythical spark now leaps not between two human fingers, but between God’s hand and the astromech — the breath of life transmitted to the machine. The cartouche メドサン signs the work.

Beyond the wink, the piece slyly questions our era: in the age of artificial intelligence and robots, Medsan replays the founding gesture of creation by slipping a metal creature into it. Who gives life to whom? The sacred icon of humanism meets the modern technological myth in a spark full of irony and vertigo.
