An exceptional and highly decorative Mid-Century modern table lamp base, manufactured by the renowned Belgian crystal firm Val Saint Lambert during the 1950s–1960s. Although unsigned, this sculptural piece is instantly recognizable by its fluid, twisted organic form, a hallmark of the manufacture’s period lighting designs. It masterfully showcases a rich cased-crystal technique, trapping a vibrant, deep amethyst-purple core within a thick, heavy layer of clear crystal. This interplay of glass thickness creates magnificent light refractions when illuminated.
