Caroni - 100% Trinidad Rum by Steffen Mayer, a bound edition with slipcase, 1136 pages, 29 × 38 cm, published in 2022 by The Spirit World in German, English, French and Italian, limited to 2,072 numbered copies (this copy no. 0017).
Description from the seller
This exceptional book is the result of five years of full-time research and presents the decline of the sugarcane industry and the Caroni distillery in Trinidad from several perspectives: the population, key-function employees, Angostura – the last remaining distillery in Trinidad – Luca Gargano, who rediscovered the incredible stock of casks, and Carsten Vlierboom from EA Scheer, who evaluated the casks in 2000.
But this work is much more than that. It explains rum production in general and the differences at Caroni in a way that is easily understandable for every reader. It uncovers the final secrets of the Caroni distillery’s equipment. Moreover, it sensitizes rum collectors to many questions, from acquiring and storing bottles to recognizing counterfeits.
The reader will find illustrations of all known Caroni original releases before the closure as well as all releases after the closure. They are supplemented by a wealth of additional information, such as the correct number of bottles for the releases and background information about the bottlers, many of whom are eagerly anticipated.
Caroni – 100% Trinidad Rum is limited to 2,072 copies and individually numbered. This book is number 0017.
