Biography
- Graziano Rey was born in Turin in 1953; from a young age, after sharing art with his brother Francesco and the master Lorenzo Alessandri during the period of the “Soffitta Macabra,” he dedicated himself for years to figurative art and, in particular, to the world of music. From 1982 to 1987, he was the author of TV jingles, the best known being: Buona Domenica, I Ragazzi della III C, La Giostra, Ferragosto OK; he collaborated as a songwriter with several singers. In 1991–1992 he won the Rino Gaetano prize and the Viareggio prize as a songwriter.
Commentator, he participated in numerous episodes of the Maurizio Costanzo Show and as an actor in Alberto Silvestri’s Candid Camera. In 1993 he published the story “3001 Spooky su Jork II,” published by Mancuso editor.
Actor in the film “In camera mia” by Sergio Martino. He moved to the Tonga Islands, continuing to devote himself to painting. In more recent years notable participation in the 57th Venice Biennale on the theme of “Moloc” at the Palazzo degli Armeni, later presented in Palermo and Vicenza in 2017. Between 2018 and 2022 he held solo exhibitions in Ferrara, Turin, Milan, Bologna.
