Historical 4/4 violin by M. Wendler of Bromberg (now Bydgoszcz, Poland), dating from circa 1890–1920, with ebony fittings and a spruce top, weight 501 g with chinrest, and including bow, hard case, and an additional chinrest, tested and playable.

Historical violin by M. Wendler – Musical Instrument Factory Bromberg (today Bydgoszcz)
For sale is a historic 4/4 violin from the Musical Instrument Factory M. Wendler in Bromberg (today Bydgoszcz, Poland). The original manufacturer’s label in the body bears the inscription:
"M. Wendler, Musikinstrumentenfabrik, Bromberg."
The violin is a fine example of German/Central European workshop craftsmanship from the period 1890–1920. It features a warm, golden-brown finish and a two-piece maple back with attractive grain. The top is made of fine spruce, and the scroll, pegs, and chinrest are ebony.
The instrument is in good, age-appropriate condition. It shows typical signs of use and minor lacquer wear, but no obviously noticeable major damage or cracks. The violin is strung and offered together with a violin bow as well as a matching hard-shell case. Additional accessories such as a second chinrest, etc. (see last photos)
