Oil on canvas portrait titled Ritratto di giovane donna by A. Lopez (XX), from the 1940–1950 period, Italy, original edition, 90 cm high by 71 cm wide, hand-signed, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
Here is an intriguing oil painting on canvas depicting the portrait of a young woman with a bohemian or gypsy look, adorned with carefully crafted details such as large hoop earrings, a necklace with a pendant, and a flower among her hair. The work is characterized by soft brushwork that enhances the chromatic contrasts between the cool tones of the background and the warm colors of the drapery. The painting bears in the lower left corner the signature "A. Lopez" in red, a typical atelier signature of the second half of the 20th century for decorative art furnishings productions.
The splendid and massive gilded wooden frame, richly worked with geometric and floral relief decorations at the corners, is not an integral part of the artwork itself but will nonetheless be offered to the future buyer with the purchase of the work as a token of appreciation. It should be noted that the frame will need a few small restorations.
