Scuola inglese (XIX) - Paesaggio

It is a wonderful landscape from the early 19th century, English school, with an indecipherable signature at the bottom left (see photo). It depicts a landscape and is from the early Romantic period; it probably bears the influence of Constable’s attention to English countryside landscapes in the early 19th century.

Surely it is a work of excellent schooling, and the photographs do not fully convey the beauty and intensity of the colors of this beautiful landscape, which pendant with another of equal size present in this auction. Here, unlike the other landscape, we are in some respects still in an 18th-century style, given the presence of the tower and the view with the tree on the right.

The dimensions of the work, which is an oil on canvas and is characterized by dense craquelure, are 101 cm x 75 cm including the frame, while they are 76 cm x 50 cm without the frame.

The work does not require restoration and the frame is original and dating to the 19th century.
