Jesús Vega Faura (Chucho), who constitutes one of the most relevant creators of the artistic activity in our territory.
He was born in Las Tunas on October 7, 1952. He has worked as a professor of plastic arts since 1979. He graduated from the Upper Middle Level of Plastic Arts in 1982. He has been a member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) since 1993. He earned a Licentiate in Plastic Education in 1998.
His artistic curriculum began more than forty years ago and he treasures a vast, diverse, and steady body of work, encompassing both plastic creation (primarily painting) and teaching, having taught many generations of artists. He has carried out numerous solo exhibitions and participated in group shows, salons, and competitions across the country. His work has received multiple awards in several instances, in addition to representing Cuba in different parts of the world.
He occupies a high rung in the Tunero and national cultural scene.
