Description from the seller

MiLo (1976), Netherlands

Title: Soft Monoliths

A contemporary abstract composition in which monumental forms are softened through texture, light and layered surfaces. Bold black masses emerge from fields of warm ivory, chalk white and muted stone tones, creating a quiet dialogue between weight and openness.

Rather than presenting rigid geometry, Soft Monoliths explores the tension between solidity and vulnerability. The substantial forms appear almost sculptural, yet the visible brushwork, subtle abrasions and translucent layers dissolve their hardness, allowing the composition to breathe. The painting invites contemplation, where architecture becomes atmosphere and structure gives way to emotion.

Its restrained palette and balanced composition make the work equally suited to modern, minimalist and Mediterranean-inspired interiors, where it serves as both a calm focal point and a timeless architectural presence.

* Original acrylic painting on high-quality cotton canvas
* Hand-painted by the artist
* Signed on the reverse
* Ready to hang (or can be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube upon request)
* Certificate of authenticity included
