Probably this poster is the most significant postwar Dutch poster. In any case; the imagery at least provides a summary of the youth culture of the time.
The poster is effectively an enlargement of a portion of a negative a few centimeters in size from a series of photographs taken in the targeted meadow with other poses. The negative also features, among other things, a cow.
The woman on the poster is Saskia Holleman (1945-2013), at the time a dancer at Carré in the Sleeswijk revue. Later she pursued a career as a lawyer. The photo was originally intended for the Sekstant magazine of the N.V.S.H.
