Console table - Gilt wood

French console in Louis XVI style, in carved and gilded wood, with a gray marble top, 19th century. Console or sideboard to be placed against the wall, rectangular in shape with rounded ends, made in carved and gilded wood, in the Louis XVI taste. It features a waist decorated with hanging floral garlands, ribbons, rosettes and beaded friezes. It rests on four straight, tapered and fluted legs, ornamented with carved vegetal motifs on the upper and lower terminals. The top is framed in gray and white marble, with a contoured profile, following the rounded ends of the structure. The neoclassical vocabulary, the configuration of the legs and the garland decoration are characteristic of revival French productions from the late 19th century, inspired by the furniture of the reign of Louis XVI.
