David Law presents Digital Keys - Marilyn Monroe II, a mixed-media artwork measuring 40 cm by 40 cm, from France, in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies (1/8) signed on the plate and dated 2026, in excellent condition and weighing 600 g.
Description from the seller
Multidisciplinary photographer artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence, and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Subsequently drawn to the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light, and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection.
New series – Fragment of Memory - Digital Keys
The portrait is no longer drawn, but suggested. Thousands of keyboard keys, arranged like a grid of pixels, bring forth the faces of personalities who have marked our imagination. From afar an icon appears; up close, a digital language made of signs and silence.
Edition & Manufacture
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with integrated rear mounting hardware. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term resistance, color stability, and a modern, contemporary appearance.
Career
Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the appointed photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual activity, he develops authorial and musical work including three novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book, and five self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
