Description from the seller
David Law
Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images
Multidisciplinary photographer artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first made himself known through a series devoted to shop window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later, drawn to the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a striking, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.
New series – Fragment of Memory - Electronic Souls
Thousands of electronic components, processors, resistors, capacitors, printed circuits, come together to give rise to faces that have become universal. Each portrait evokes how our collective memory is today shaped by technology. Fragments of machines compose a new humanity.
Edition & Fabrication
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with an integrated back mounting. Printing on bright white vinyl, counter-mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, great long-term color stability and a modern and contemporary look.
Parcours
Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops a body of work as author and musician, including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
