Cailar Bayard - Salver (2) - Silverplated

A fine pair of Belle Epoque silver plated salvers or cabarets by one of Paris´ most prestigious houses: Cailar Bayard. Stamped to the underside with maker´s mark and "Metallonide", their proprietary base metal underground alloy for silver plating.

Cailar & Bayard was a prestigious French silversmith company known for producing high-quality silver-plated wares, primarily operating in Paris between 1848 and 1934. The firm was founded by Noël Cailar and Pierre Bayard and specialized in ornate styles, particularly Belle Époque, Louis XV, and Third Empire designs. The firm was purchased by Christofle in 1912 and ceased independent production in 1934.

Estimated age: Late 19th century.

Condition: Considering the age, the salvers are in a formidable condition. A few minimal surface scratches. Please see pictures for a better impression.
