AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Victorian dining table in carved mahogany, with two pedestals, 1890–1910. Elegant extendable dining room table, of European workmanship, probably English, executed in mahogany, in the late Victorian taste and Chippendale Revival, datable to the late 19th or early 20th century. It features a large oval top, with a carved frame and a removable extension leaf. The waist is richly decorated with carved friezes of vegetal-inspired and pearled motifs. It rests on two sturdy baluster-turned pedestals, ornamented with acanthus leaves, ending in quadripartite bases with curved legs and sculpted feet. The pedestals are connected by a central turned crosspiece, imparting stability and an imposing presence to the whole. A striking piece, suitable for eight to ten places, combining historicist decorative richness with the practicality of an extendable table.
