Oil on panel by a European school, datable to around the 1920s, with an illegible signature at the lower right and handwritten annotations on the reverse. The work represents a coastal scene of an intimate character, with two female figures seated beside the sea, while in the background small boats can be distinguished on the horizon line.

The painting is placed within a tradition of marine genre painting, with influences of late Impressionism and naturalist Post-Impressionism. The scene does not seek a complex narrative, but rather the capture of a serene and everyday moment: two popular figures resting or conversing along the coast, enveloped in a silent and contemplative atmosphere.

From a stylistic point of view, a loose and delicate brushstroke stands out, especially visible in the low vegetation in the foreground, in the treatment of the sky and the waters of the sea. The color palette is soft and restrained, with bluish grays, ochers, mauves, pinks and earth tones, creating a luminous yet melancholic atmosphere. This chromatic sensibility is very typical of European painting in the early 20th century, especially in coastal scenes and everyday themes.

The composition exhibits great sobriety. The two figures are placed in the foreground, integrated into the landscape without asserting themselves theatrically. The adult figure, seated to the right, looks toward the young woman on the left, creating an intimate and silent visual relationship. In the background, the sea and sails add depth and reinforce the maritime ambience of the scene.

The work preserves on the reverse old handwritten notes, of unclear legibility, which constitute an item of documentary interest. The visible signature on the front appears illegible or difficult to identify, so cataloging is prudently maintained as a work of European school of the 1920s.
