Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date, 41 mm stainless steel case with emerald green dial, automatic Calibre MB 24.17, year 2022.
Description from the seller
In this section we present a piece of exceptional prestige and allure: a Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date in the highly sought-after emerald green color. A timepiece that combines high sports watchmaking with a hypnotic naturalistic design.
This watch is Montblanc's first professional diving watch certified (ISO 6425), but it is especially famous for its revolutionary dial. The manufacture has managed to recreate the three-dimensional texture, the veining, and the depth of glacial ice (inspired by the Mer de Glace of Mont Blanc) through a complex and ancient artisanal technique called gratté-boisé. The deep emerald green shade catches the light, evoking the reflections of alpine lakes surrounded by glaciers.
The technical setup is flawless. The 41 mm stainless steel case is topped by a unidirectional green two-tone ceramic bezel, glossy and scratch-resistant. The watch is water resistant up to a substantial 30 ATM (300 meters) and the solid case back boasts a magnificent 3D laser engraving depicting a diver and an iceberg. Indices and hands are generously filled with Super-LumiNova for perfect legibility in the dark, as documented in the photographs. The heart is the automatic movement Calibre MB 24.17.
The condition is to be regarded as excellent overall (excellent). The watch has been preserved with extremely careful handling. The sapphire crystal and the ceramic bezel insert are immaculate, without any mark. The steel case is dazzling and robust. On the bracelet and, particularly, on the deployant clasp, one notes only extremely rare, negligible, and almost imperceptible superficial hairline micro-scratches due to normal and meticulous handling of the piece, which do not detract from its beauty. The engraved case back is also perfectly clear.
