About Svnder:
After completing her academic studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo, Svnder dedicated herself to painting with a focus on realism and hyperrealism. Her work has roots in classical techniques, but is driven by a contemporary sensibility that lends poetic depth to every subject. Her works explore the emotional weight of silence, stillness, and identity through precise and meticulous execution.
After her formal training, she traveled through Europe and the rest of the world, immersing herself in different cultures and artistic traditions to further refine her technique and broaden her creative vision. This ongoing journey continually enriches her visual language and intensifies its expressive force.
Inspired by the timeless language of the great masters — including Caravaggio, Rembrandt, and Vermeer — her gaze blends tradition and modernity in a continual dialogue between memory, body, and symbol.
The subjects of her works range from religious scenes and sacred figures reinterpreted in a contemporary key, to portraits with strong emotional impact, passing through mythological creatures, fallen angels, saints, martyrs, and allegorical figures. There are also references to classicism, Christian symbolism, Greek myth, and pop culture filtered with irony. Each composition is built like an image suspended in time, where light and darkness, body and spirit, sacred and profane coexist in a dramatic and deeply human balance.
“For me, art is a moment of suspension — a space where time stops and emotions take shape without the need for words.”
Her works have been exhibited internationally and are part of private collections across Europe and the rest of the world.
