Yves Offret (1946–2004)
Norman painter
Born in 1946, Yves Offret devoted his life to painting, developing a body of work deeply rooted in his native Normandy. His studio, located in Conches-en-Ouche, was the site of a thoughtful pictorial exploration of landscapes, changing light, and the region’s atmospheres.
In the 1980s, he exhibited notably at Galerie Tuffier in Les Andelys, where his work drew the attention of an audience sensitive to the poetry of his canvases. True to a personal approach, Offret favored an intimate painting style, where nature and scenes of life transform into delicate evocations, imbued with serenity.
Passed away in 2004, Yves Offret leaves behind a discreet yet sincere body of work, witness to an artist’s attachment to his homeland and to the simple beauty of everyday life.
