Description from the seller
This is a partially gilded bronze seated Avalokiteshvara statue in Tibetan Buddhism. The body retains the original, simple color of the bronze base, while the crown, necklace, lotus pedestal, and ribbons are decorated with gilding. The Bodhisattva's face is compassionate and serene, and the four arms are in a standard and proper posture. The two hands are clasped together in front of the chest, while the remaining two arms hold a rosary and a lotus flower respectively. The statue sits in the lotus position on a double-layered lotus pedestal. The various decorative patterns are exquisitely carved, and the entire piece is solid and heavy.
