Description
A special and decorative set of three different antique and vintage irons, made of cast iron, brass and wood. Each specimen represents a different evolution in the development of the traditional iron and has its own character and appearance.
A beautiful lot for collectors of domestic antique, industrial heritage or as atmospheric decoration in a rural, brocante or industrial interior.
The set consists of:
Coal iron (left) – Cast-iron/metal version with ventilation openings, wooden handle and a decorative latch in the shape of a rooster. This type was filled with glowing charcoal to retain heat during ironing.
Brass coal iron (center) – Lovely brass edition with characteristic triangular ventilation openings, hinged lid and wooden handle. A fine example of a traditional coal iron.
Solid brass iron (right) – Compact and heavy model with an elegant turned wooden handle. A decorative piece with a pleasing warm patina.
