Puig Joan Vila (XX) - Paysage

(Joan) Vila Puig (1890-1963) is a prominent figure in Spanish painting of the early 20th century. He was part of the Évolutionistes group and, throughout his career, organized numerous exhibitions in Granada, Sabadell, Barcelona, Girona, and Reus, among other cities.
Vila Puig's landscapes are initially influenced by Corot and Millet. By around 1920, critics already regard him as an heir to Mir, Rusiñol, and Meifrèn; from 1934, his work evolves toward a style closer to the Dutch school. The core of his work consists of landscapes of the western Vallès, visible at the Sabadell Art Museum.
I propose here a pastoral view (a path bordering a lake) untitled, executed in a figurative style in oil on canvas.
The work measures 25 cm wide by 21 cm high, excluding the frame; 39 cm wide by 34.5 cm high, including the frame.
It is in very good condition. Signed at bottom left.
