Underwater No. 38 explores the fragile threshold between beauty and vulnerability beneath the ocean's surface. At first glance, the painting invites the viewer into a luminous underwater world where shafts of light dissolve into turquoise depths. As the eye lingers, however, the scattered fragments reveal themselves as plastic debris suspended in the water, transforming a seemingly serene seascape into a meditation on environmental disruption.
The contrast between radiant light and drifting waste reflects the paradox of our relationship with nature: our oceans remain places of extraordinary wonder while simultaneously bearing the visible traces of human consumption. The light becomes both a symbol of hope and a witness, illuminating what is often hidden beneath the surface.
Rather than depicting pollution through confrontation, I chose to approach the subject through visual seduction. The vibrant palette and fluid movement draw the viewer in before revealing the unsettling reality embedded within the composition. This tension between attraction and discomfort encourages a slower, more reflective encounter with the work.
Part of an ongoing series, Underwater No. 38 continues my exploration of the sea as both a living ecosystem and a mirror of human impact. It asks viewers to consider not only what we see beneath the water, but also what we choose to overlook. Ultimately, the painting is an invitation to reconnect with the ocean—not as a distant landscape, but as a shared, vulnerable environment whose future is inseparable from our own.

The artwork will be shipped as a rolled, unstretched canvas for safe delivery. Packaged in tube box and wrapped properly.
Rolled works can be easily stretched (for canvas works, i.e. placed onto wooden stretcher bars) and/or framed by a local framer. Minor waves or creases may be visible upon arrival, which is completely normal for rolled canvas. These will disappear once the canvas is stretched or framed by a professional framer.
All my shipments will be made through DPD, GLS, DHL EXPRESS or a similar company , always trying to guarantee the safety, care and efficient delivery of the work. However, delays that may occur in the case of goods are beyond my control; I will always be attentive to tracking the shipment and any incident that may arise, being at the customer's disposal to provide appropriate assistance and support.
