Israeli Sabbath candlestick "Moses with the Tablets of the Decalogue" – Judaica – Israel – circa 1960–1980
The offered item is an impressive, three-branch Sabbath candlestick originating from Israel, made in the second half of the 20th century.
The central motif of the composition is the figure of Moses holding the open Tablets of the Decalogue. Inside there are Hebrew inscriptions referring to the Ten Commandments. On the reverse there is the inscription שבת (Shabbat), while on the bottom an ISRAEL mark is stamped, confirming the country of origin.
The candlestick was produced by casting, with a brass finish. The decorative form with rich ornamentation and colorful accents makes it a characteristic example of Israeli applied art and Judaica from the 60s–70s.
The item is an interesting addition to a collection of Judaica and interior decor.
