Description from the seller
An engaging oil painting on canvas from 1970 titled «Looking at the Future», by painter V. Orlow. In the foreground, a figurative composition with a post-impressionist rural flavor depicts a young woman with a yellow scarf on her head and a basket on her arm, accompanied by a child who clings to her as they walk along a country path. The brushwork is rich, textured, and dynamic, with warm tones and a pronounced atmospheric rendering.
The work is signed "V. Orlow" in red in the bottom right corner, with a large counter-signature on the back of the canvas. On the back is kept the original Guarantee Certificate issued by the Ass. Artisti Riuniti Roma, certifying the title of the work, the format 50 x 70 cm, the year of execution (1970), and the contemporaneous valuation (£450,000).
The painting is housed in its original molded wood frame with a fabric passe-partout.
Conditions: Very good; original canvas well stretched on a wooden interlocking frame.
Framing: Antique wooden frame with a light fabric passe-partout.
