Important relief wall plaque representing the astrological sign of Virgo. The composition shows a seated female figure, treated in a modernist style very characteristic of German productions of the 1950s-1960s. The zodiac symbol of Virgo appears in the upper left part.
The plaque is made in thick and heavy ceramic, probably stoneware or chamotte clay. The decoration is deeply incised and glazed in ochre, yellow, brown, black and deep blue tones.
The reverse, unglazed, presents an integrated cavity allowing wall mounting. No signature or manufacturer's mark is visible.
