Description from the seller
Not your doll - 16 (n.678)
The dimensions are:

- collage + passepartout + frame: 76.50 x 56.50 cm; thickness 2.50 cm
Acrylic painting on shredded paper on canvas
Framed; ready to be hung
We are slapping Mother Nature, we are punching her.
Like a woman subjected to violence. Like a doll.
She resists, without batting an eyelid, and she always remains there, waiting for us. Ready to forgive.
And we keep slapping her.
We wound her, but we will never be able to kill her.
But she is always there. To welcome us. To wait for us. Patiently.
She knows we will never change and that the damage we are doing is to ourselves, not to her.
We will cease to exist. Not her.
I create paintings using acrylic colors and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper becomes art instead of ending up in the trash.
In my latest works I have focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the latest works I have created.
On these little pieces of paper you can read scattered words and phrases here and there.
It often happens this way when we truly approach another person: sometimes we perceive their secret messages, sometimes not.
The work is sold framed and ready to hang thanks to the hook on the back.
The surface features small reliefs and I like to caress it, to feel it...
I also use acrylic resin on the surface, which gives a glossy effect and protects the colors from sunlight and dust.

Each piece is packed securely, wrapped and protected for shipping and will arrive in a completely safe package, including the Certificate of Authenticity.
I use the courier provided directly by Catawiki.
A few days of delays may be caused by customs clearance at borders.
Shipping takes about 7 days; about 10 days for non-EU countries.
A tracking number is provided.
Different light sources can confer different colors to the photos.
In the case of works that I frame myself, the dimensions may vary slightly since I personally prepare the wooden frame, stretch the canvas and fix it to the frame.

Born in 1974 I am self-taught.
After an initial period devoted to sculpture there was a long hiatus lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I resumed with the “two dimensions” for reasons of time and space, leaving sculpture aside and dedicating myself to acrylic paintings.
I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I have been pushing myself to paint faces of people both imaginary and real.
For me painting is about “freezing time” in that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and therefore my works are “worn, eroded by time.” Sometimes my paintings depict corners of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that — over time — grow on the surface.
Time that passes inexorably is the main theme of my works.
Coming from a beautiful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs clearly perceptible to the touch as well as to the naked eye.
In this recent period, after several years during which my works were made from pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and grids with mathematical rigor that up close seem to form an abstract colorful picture but the further you go away the more a portrait figure emerges from the many painted wooden discs.
Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all of my works when I reproduce women’s faces, precisely to give them a voice when they lack the strength or courage to report that they are not their partners’ dolls and cannot be mistreated or worse, victims of violence.
