Arcy, the pseudonym of Mariarcangela Laddaga, is an Italian artist specializing in portraiture and contemporary figurative painting. Born in Gravina in Puglia in 1994, she has shown from childhood a strong inclination for drawing and creative expression. Over time she found in the portrait the most suitable artistic language to explore emotions, identity, and human relationships, developing a particular attention to the expressions and details of the face.

Her works, mainly devoted to the female figure, investigate deep emotions, unspoken feelings, and intimate dimensions of existence, entrusting their communication to gestures, postures, and gazes. Inspired by the great masters of Italian art, the oeuvre blends the charm of figurative tradition with a contemporary expressive search. Through the use of black-and-white acrylic colors on vintage book pages, Arcy builds a poetic and intense image, where every element contributes to telling a silent and universal story.
