Manuela Decker – Intuition and Abstraction
Manuela Decker (born 1973) is a contemporary German painter who lives and works in Osnabrück. As a self-taught artist, she has developed an unconventional, deeply emotional visual language that moves freely beyond academic constraints. Under the studio name Gallery M, she presents her works to an international audience.

Artistic Profile & Style
Manuela Decker’s works are associated with abstract expressionism and modern informal art. The central focus of her work is the process of letting go. Her large-format acrylic paintings often come about impulsively and intuitively — guided by momentary impressions, moods, and the dynamics of color itself.
* Technique: She mainly works with acrylic paints, pastels, and texturing mixed media on canvas. The application of color occurs in layers, sometimes boldly thick, sometimes softly brushed or glazed. This gives her paintings a tactile depth.
* Contrasts: A recurring motif is the play with extreme opposites. In series such as “Better in black,” she juxtaposes deep, dark planes with sudden, luminous color explosions or minimalist lines. The imperfect and raw are deliberately staged as an aesthetic element.

Philosophy and Intention
For Manuela Decker, art is an outlet for the unsayable. She does not want to impose a fixed interpretation on the viewer, but to offer space for one’s own associations and feelings. Her art seeks dialogue with the subconscious.
