An attractive oil on canvas belonging to the French school of the first half of the 20th century, in which a painter working outdoors is depicted inside a courtyard surrounded by traditional buildings and abundant vegetation.

The presence of the artist before his easel constitutes the true narrative center of the composition. Located in the middle area of the painting, he appears focused on executing a work, turning the scene into an interesting representation of the very act of painting. The work maintains affinities with the French tradition of garden, courtyard painting and scenes of artists working outdoors, very developed between the late 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century. There are also certain post-impressionist echoes in the simplification of forms and in the construction of space through color masses.
