Artist Photographer – Creator of contemporary images
Multidisciplinary photographer, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series dedicated to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later, intrigued by the distinctive aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.
New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons
The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary rereading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction made up of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From a distance, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it unveils a wealth of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject represented. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. Thorough work is carried out on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent way.
Edition & Manufacturing
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in rear mounting system. Printing on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with a soft UV- and humidity-resistant laminate, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term color stability and a modern, contemporary rendering.
