Biography and Notes about the Artist:
Céline Robellaz (also known as Céline Olive Descoullayes) was born in Nyon, Canton of Vaud, on April 7, 1903, and died in Ecublens on September 15, 1984.

She studied and lived in Italy from 1931 to 1945, a period of fundamental importance for her training and artistic development.
From 1933 she became an active member of the Société des Femmes Peintres (Vevey section), strengthening her presence in the Swiss art scene.

A versatile painter, she primarily dedicated herself to still lifes, landscapes, and human figures, in addition to having studied and later taught at the École de céramique in Nyon.
During her career she received prestigious awards, including the Prix de la Paix in 1950 and the Prix Alice Bailly in 1960.
Among her most significant public works are the frescoes commissioned for the Olympic Stadium of Lausanne.
Today her works are preserved in important public institutions, including the Fonds des arts plastiques of the City of Lausanne and the Aargauer Kunsthaus.

Description of the artwork:
A suggestive work with a strong material impact, depicting a dynamic tangle of salamanders. The artist skillfully uses strong color contrasts, highlighting the vivid yellows against a background of dark blue and earthy tones, giving the composition vibrant energy and an almost primordial atmosphere. The painting technique is dense and expressive, worked with a thick application that makes the texture of the depicted subjects lively and sculptural. The work is presented in a solid display with rear support and hanging system.

If the frame is visible in the photo, it is included in the lot as a pure gift from me and is not part of the sale; it does not determine the value, and due to its delicacy it is not insured. Consequently, any pre-existing defects on the frame are not reported, and any damage sustained by it during transport will not be considered for claims or refunds.
