Grsso:

a man’s head and a bucranium, created as a symbol to venerate hunted or sacrificed animals.
On one side a young hunter, on the other side the bucranium, or bull skull, present in Roman monuments and in Greek sacred contexts. The bucranium was already used in Mesopotamian ceramics of the 4th millennium BCE and in Egyptian funerary painting of the 2nd millennium BCE.
Statue made from a mold of the former Chiurazzi artistic foundry.
Dimensions: approximately 52 x 23 x 24 cm
Provenance: Italy
Era: late 20th century
