Wax maquette of a man and a bucranium, created as a symbol to venerate animals hunted or sacrificed.
On one side a young hunter, on the other side the bucranium, or bull's skull, present in Roman monuments and in Greek sacred contexts. The bucranium was already used in Mesopotamian ceramics of the IV millennium BCE and in Egyptian funerary painting of the II millennium BCE.

This model is the second of four sketches derived from a period mold.
