Lovely Roman-style countertop balance scale
Italian-made in the 1940s in Tuscany, inspired by a 17th-century model, hence the mark M.D.C.V (1605).
Beautiful ornate pendulum with volutes. At its end: a hook supporting the weighing system (graduated arm, pan and weights).
The measurement of the product’s mass is done by moving the weight along the graduated arm until the whole is perfectly balanced.

Jolie balance romaine de comptoir
Fabrication italienne des années 1940 en Toscane, inspirée d'un modèle du XVIIe siècle, d'où l'estampille M.D.C.V (1605).
Belle potence ornementée de volutes. A son extrémité : un crochet supportant le système de pesée (bras gradué, coupelle et poids).
La mesure de la masse du produit s'effectue en déplaçant le poids le long du bras gradué jusqu'à ce que l'ensemble soit parafaitement équilibre.
