Ruifeng - Box - Phoenix pattern - Copper - Embossed inkpad box

This commemorative inkpad box, handcrafted by Ruifeng, a traditional Japanese copper and gold craftsman, is a limited-edition item commemorating the 15th anniversary of the publication "Mino to Hida no Mukashi-wa" (The Story of Mino and Hida). The box is a round, flat box with a lid featuring a high-relief engraving of a phoenix and a phoenix amidst a sycamore tree, its wings gracefully extended and richly detailed with the sycamore branches and leaves. The airtight design allows for long-term storage of inkpads; however, the original inkpads inside have dried out due to age. After purchase, you can add ink to reconstitute them for use in calligraphy, painting, and seal carving.

This inkpad box follows the traditional Japanese copper forging and metalworking techniques. First, high-purity copper is repeatedly hammered and shaped to create the box body and hammered base. Then, multi-layered high-relief engraving is used to carve phoenix and phoenix tree details, creating a strong three-dimensional effect. The bottom of the box is hand-engraved with the exclusive craftsman's mark, "Ruifeng." The box comes with a matching paulownia wood offering box inscribed with the craftsman's own calligraphy, stamped with the artist's vermilion seal, and an exclusive anniversary inscription printed on the inside.
