Splendid and imposing antique chess set, characterized by craftsmanship of the very highest level. The chessboard, of generous size (48 x 48 cm), is entirely made in solid, heavy fine green marble (with beautiful natural veining) alternating with white marble squares. The structure is completed by a massive perimeter frame and by elegant integrated angular supporting feet, also in marble, which raise the entire base giving it a monumental and regal appearance. The included pieces are finely hand-carved in a classical style that recalls the famous Italian craft tradition (Volterra style). Made from natural precious materials such as alabaster, they feature precise details and a beautiful glossy patina that enhances the warm veining of the light pieces and the deep intensity of the dark pieces
