AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A composition with a contemporary aesthetic that reinterprets the classical still life through an everyday scene. The work stands out for its meticulous handling of light and brushwork on a neutral color palette, creating a sober visual play where the elements of the cart — glass bottles, vegetation, and small decorative objects — bring rhythm and freshness. An intimate and elegant piece, characterized by expressive brushwork and a strong decorative character.

-----

Jesús López (Valencia, 1982) began oil painting at barely nine or ten years old, a hobby that he maintained until finishing the EGB and that was put on hold for many years. It was during the COVID pandemic that he resumed artistic creation through watercolor, a technique that allowed him to discover a language based on transparency, synthesis, and the active role of water in the creative process.

After that reconnection with painting, he decided to return to oil painting, first self-taught and later training at Aguaespejo Estudio with the Jaén-based artist Francisco Solás Quesada. His work moves between realism and impressionism, with special interest in everyday objects and scenes.

His main reference is Joaquín Sorolla, for his expressive brushwork and, of course, for the light in his works.

His journey in painting has really only just begun.
