OMEGA GENEVE WATCH "CROSSHAIR DIAL" (1960s):
We present at auction a beautiful representative of mid-century Swiss elegance: a classic Omega Genève. This line was introduced by Omega to pay homage to the city that housed its best watchmakers, focusing on clean designs, reliability and refined finishes.
The coveted "Crosshair" dial: The main appeal of this piece is undoubtedly its dial configuration. On a silver background are drawn very fine cross lines (crosshair) that provide spectacular geometry to the dial. It is adorned with Arabic numerals (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12), dot markers and the Omega emblem applied in a warm gold tone.
Condition of conservation (Expert Review)
Prospective bidders are kindly asked to carefully review the photo gallery to verify the authentic vintage condition of the piece:
Case: Polished stainless steel in good condition, showing typical micro-scratches and fine nicks of a watch with more than 50 years of history, with no deep dents.
Crystal and Dial: The acrylic crystal is in good condition. The dial shows a natural and uniform patina in the form of a fine "mottling" (spotting / freckles), which certifies its originality and gives it undeniable retro charm.
Crown: Original of its period, signed with the Omega logo.
Caseback: Snap-on stainless steel, smooth and in very good cosmetic condition.
Bracelet: Delivered mounted on an unusual and attractive aftermarket braided-textured beige strap, with a generic steel buckle.
Movement: Omega-manufactured hand-wound mechanical movement in working condition. (Note: As a vintage collectible piece, exact chronometric precision nor original water resistance are guaranteed, and its last service history is unknown).
