Description from the seller
INFINITY BLUE II
95 x 70 cm
Acrylic on canvas · 2026
Infinity Blue II reduces the scene to two essential elements: the water and the edge of a pool, linked by a metal ladder that acts as the sole link between the two spaces. The composition, built from a close framing, eliminates any reference to the surroundings to focus attention on the light, color, and movement of the water surface. The reflections, treated with fragmented and vibrant brushstrokes, transform the water into a chromatic field where deep blues, greens, purples, and pinkish glints coexist.
The simplicity of the scene turns a commonplace motif into a contemplative image. The geometry of the pink edge contrasts with the fluidity of the water, while the ladder introduces a silent presence that suggests the possibility of entering that suspended space. The work offers a reflection on rest, stillness, and the beauty of small moments, building an atmosphere where color becomes the real protagonist.
EXHIBITION AND VALUE OF THE WORK
Infinity Blue II is part of a body of work in which Mar Legón explores spaces related to water, architecture, and leisure from a synthetic and contemporary perspective. The work stands out for its ability to transform a minimal scene into a composition of great visual intensity, where color abstraction and the observation of light take on a central role.
It is a unique piece, entirely handmade in 2026, that brings together some of the artist's most representative traits of her recent output: formal simplification, expressive use of color, and the creation of atmospheres that invite contemplation. For its balance between compositional elegance, chromatic strength, and pictorial language, it is especially attractive to collectors interested in contemporary landscape and architectural painting.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mar Legón develops a pictorial practice focused on reinterpretation of landscapes, interiors, still lifes, and figurative scenes through a visual language based on color, formal synthesis, and the construction of atmospheres.
Her work transforms recognizable spaces and motifs into images of strong visual intensity, where reality is simplified and reorganized to give rise to scenes that oscillate between memory, imagination, and contemplation.
