Description from the seller
A surprising, ironic, and instantly recognizable presence. Urban Frog is a contemporary sculpture by Angelo Scardino, made in PLA and resin, in which the frog figure is transformed into a true urban creature. The surface is crossed by graffiti, graphic marks, intense colors, and metallic reflections that continually change with light and the point of view. The wide, dynamic pose gives the work strong visual energy: the legs seem to expand into space, while the glossy finish highlights every detail of the decoration. Orange, blue, red, and gold tones overlap to create a contemporary, lively, and unrepeatable skin.
The frog, a universal symbol of transformation, adaptation, and rebirth, becomes here the meeting point between nature and metropolitan culture. A seemingly familiar creature is reinterpreted through the language of Street Art and Pop Art, taking on a bold, unconventional, and highly cinematic character.
The piece invites the eye from every angle and is ideal for enhancing a contemporary environment, a loft, a professional studio, or a collection devoted to sculpture, Urban Art, and designer Art.
A work capable of introducing color, personality, and movement into a space, designed for those seeking an original piece far from conventional decorative solutions. Every finish, color stratification, and surface treatment has been done by hand, making the work non-reproducible in an identical way. The piece is accompanied by an authenticity certificate signed by the artist, attesting its uniqueness, technique, year of creation, and direct provenance from the author.
Professional, sturdy, and secure packaging. Tracked and insured shipping.
Angelo Scardino is an Italian contemporary sculptor whose research explores the relationship between matter, memory, and transformation. Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts of Lecce, where he earned a sculpture diploma with the highest honors, he has long combined his artistic activity with teaching plastic disciplines.
In his works, organic forms, symbolic figures, and images from contemporary culture are transformed through traditional materials and innovative technologies, such as ceramics, resin, and 3D printing in PLA. Fragmented surfaces, intense colors, metallic patinas, and influences from Street Art become tools to tell the identity, fragility, and constant change of the human being.
His sculptures have been exhibited in national shows, awards, and events, including Paratissima and the Arte Mondadori Award, for which he was a finalist in 2025. Each work is conceived as a unique piece and designed to establish an immediate dialogue with the viewer, combining visual impact, conceptual research, and a recognizable contemporary sensibility.
