An authentic pair of traditional Turkish shadow theater puppets (Karagöz ve Hacivat), handcrafted from fine, translucent camel hide (deve derisi).
Characters Included:
Karagöz: The iconic, bold main character featuring his distinctive movable jointed arm and large articulated hat (ışkırlak).
Hacivat: The educated companion, detailed with his traditional pointed curved turban (kallavi) and ornate beard.
Material & Craftsmanship: Crafted from thin, rigid camel leather, meticulously hand-perforated (göstermelik technique) and detailed with black ink. When backlit, the translucent amber qualities of the cured camel hide emerge, making them striking both as historical folk art pieces and as backlit display objects.
Features: Fully articulated joints (arms, legs, and hats) held by original fasteners, designed for traditional rod manipulation.
